Butcher
began American frontier re-enacting (1850's-90's)
back in '84, with "Troup Artillery"
in the Civil War program at Ft. Tejon,
Ca.
Since, he has "shot
it out and robbed" more than his
share of eager tourists at Knott's Berry
Farm, from '87-'91, while maintaining
a "legitimate cover" running
the "Overland Gun Shoppe" in
Knott's Ghost Town.
A two-time winner of the Knott's employee
talent shows, he is also an accomplished
vocalist & songwriter. In '86 and
'87 (and after 18 years has been once
again in '05-'06) singing lead vocals
for the band "STORMKRO" and
is currently working on various several
original projects of his own.
While at "the Berry Farm," BUTCHER
also found himself involved in their annual
"Halloween Haunt", winning several
Knott's costume contests with an original
character ... "J.R. BUTCHER"
(the "vengeance-seeking" remains
of a gunfighter, too slow that one and
only time)
In '90, he co-wrote and starred (as "Beetlejuice")
in the now infamous "Calico Squre
Hanging" show.
After "leaving the farm", he
drifted the many trails of a frontier
gunfighter's path. Even to the historic
streets of TOMBSTONE, AZ.!
He has performed with various "outlaw
groups and law-dog posses" such as:
"The Border Renegades" winning
"Best Actor" honors at the O.W.L.H.F./S.A.S.S.
End of Trail in '99, for his portrayal
of an angry & crippled "Will
Plummer".
"The Cross-Creek Cowboys", "The
Mojave Muleskinners", & "the
Calico Gunfighters" have all had
BUTCHER, and his "Schofield"
revolver on their side, before his being
proudly accepted amounts the fine and
fast "hired guns" of "THE
FRONTIER GUNFIGHTERS"
Butcher has been seen seen on programs
like "Dr. Vegas" (as a poker
player) and (as "Thursday")
on the "Old West House" episode
of TLC's "Monster House". |
